After initiating a turnaround plan that entailed shuttering some 100 stores nationwide, Macy's delivered bad news last week: Holiday 2018 was pretty much a bust. GlobalData Retail Managing Director Neil Saunders, who said the holiday report suggests negative comps for the quarter.

Announced in October, USPS methods are poised for a large correction. On January 27th, rates will go up across the board—most notably First Class Packages (11.9% avg) and Priority Mail (6.2% avg). UPS bolsters its Saturday pickup by adding weekend processing for international shipments. Previously international shipments could be picked up on Saturday, but wouldn’t begin getting worked until the following Monday. This follows announcements in 2018 by UPS and FedEx that they would be expanding Saturday pickup and delivery service.
